In a recent radio interview I was asked why I might expect someone to pay over twenty dollars for a book by an unknown author. I could only say that being an avid reader myself, I like to think that I know what the average reading public wants and I truly feel that my books will give them that. I know that what I enjoy reading most is books about believable situations and real true-to-life characters. But I sometimes also enjoy reading about miracles--I believe in miracles. Also, my books are printed on high-quality paper and are collectibles. They aren't mass printed paperbacks on newspaper quality print that will sell for six dollars from a Walmart display

with stories that will be forgotten as soon as they are read and end up in a flea market selling for 50 cents a piece.  My books are stories that will be remembered, stories about real people and real places; books that you would want to put away after reading to pass down to your children and grandchildren.  Over forty years ago I read 'The Good Earth' by Pearl Buck--I have never forgotten that story--and over the last year I have read hundreds of books by many well known authors, but I couldn't tell you what most of them were about. Too many authors have one or two good books, then they tend to put out stories just to get more out in print, for the money so to speak, and those books don't hold up to a die-hard reader.

Amos Jakey--from American Book Publishing 2006   My first book---Amos Jakey--- written in 2005 has just come out in print by American Book Publishing.   Check it out and order it now just click on the following link. http://www.pdbookstore.com/comfiles/pages/SandraGraham.shtml       Amos Jakey is loosely based on my father's life and some of the stories which he told me when I was a child growing up in Arkansas.  Born in 1908 my father as a young man worked his way across the country from Arkansas to California breaking wild horses.  He had many very interesting tales to tell of his adventures.  My father passed away in 1990 and I have tried to leave a lasting legacy in his memory for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.   If you enjoy reading about people, you will enjoy this book.                                    Circa 1931               My second book "Nicolina" has just come out in print and can be purchased on-line now.  Nicolina picks up where Amos Jakey leaves off.  Loosely based on the life of my mother, again this is a story about people.  My mother was the daughter of a half-Choctaw, half-German mother and Australian immigrant father.  Life was hard for a farm family of fifteen to eck out a meager living from the rough and rocky terrain of the backwoods Missouri/Arkansas border country.  And so it is no surprise that the daughters of the family were married off as soon as possible, while the sons were kept home longer as assets in free farm labor. The Chicken Dinner

Growing up in St.Louis, Mo., I would probably have been classified as your typical all-around city kid.  That's not to say that I was totally ignorant of a place called "the country" or that I didn't know there was a place where trees and grass grew and that there were certain animals that could eat said grass and turn it into the milk that was dropped on my door step every day.  I was fourteen years old when I went to spend two weeks with my grandparents and cousins in a place called "Rattlesnake Ridge" outside Poplar Bluff.  Things can get pretty wild and hairy in the deep dark woods of the country.
